Kyushu Electric Power Co., Inc.
Kyushu Electric Power Co., Inc. will start manufacturing and selling battery packs for industrial machinery using lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles from April 2022.
This product is a lithium-ion battery pack that utilizes battery monitoring control technology and rapid charging technology that we have been researching and developing for more than ten years, taking into account the load characteristics that differ from machine to machine.
As the movement toward carbon neutrality accelerates in countries around the world, reducing CO2 emissions at construction sites is becoming an issue. In response to this, by selling this product to industrial machinery manufacturers who are considering electrification of their products, we will support efforts to reduce CO2 through electrification and contribute to the realization of a carbon neutral society.
Currently, we are conducting joint verification with multiple manufacturers such as Nakayama Ironworks Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Takeo City, Saga Prefecture) and Morooka Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Ryugasaki City, Ibaraki Prefecture). We have also decided to sell electric heavy equipment equipped with this product.
