HP Japan Co., Ltd. announced the VR head-mounted display (HMD) "HP Reverb G2 Omnicept Edition" that can collect human physiological reaction data and the SDK "HP Omnicept Solution" for developers for the domestic market. The former is scheduled to be available at the end of 2021, the latter will first provide only the Core license, and the others will be provided sequentially.

HP Reverb G2 Omnicept Edition is a product for developers equipped with sensors that can measure muscle movement, line of sight, pupil size, pulse, etc., based on the company's VR HMD "HP Reverb G2". It also has facial expression detection, spatial 3D audio, and a forbidden rendering function that tracks the line of sight and enhances the image quality in the center.

The display resolution is 2,160 x 2,160 dots per eye, the refresh rate is up to 90Hz, and the viewing angle is 114 degrees. The main body size is 253 x 290 x 110 mm (width x depth x height), and the weight is about 0.73 kg.

The HP Omnicept SDK is a developer kit that allows you to analyze various data obtained from Reverb G2 Omnicept Edition using machine learning models. Prepare four licenses (Core / Academic / Enterprise / Developer) with different APIs and functions that can be used.
